Snow effects

Iam currently using micro ballons for snow effects, but i find it hasn,t got the sparkle of the real stuff, what other methods/ products are there available?

Does anyone know where to get something like that kit Donga recommended, but in North America?

For snow ive used salt mixed in cold water to create a slushy sort of snow, then added some of GW\'s snow flock to add a bit of sparkle through it. Its fine for a gaming standard mini.

I would just do a Google search on Deluxe Materials + US/Canada. I cant see a North American supplier on their site???

The best sparkle effect i have seen was with pva and micro balloons mix, before it set, powdered glass was gently sprinkled on top.

powdered glass is seriously bad juju for inhaling, i think alum is used by some, but not of the results.

Over at this BrushThralls article they suggest the following recipe:

1 part water
1 part PVA (white) glue
2 parts baking soda (bicarb)

If you look at the example pics, it works very well!
