Sm army options

So I saw the new Vulcan Hestian Salamanders character online is coming out with Planetstrike, or maybe the month after and I had been thinking of doing a new SM army anyway...
So hopefully you all can help me with some options I have been trying to work out. I am a very slow painter and army builder, I am also poor so I cant waste money on options I wont use.

FYI, I am thinking to do this army as an offshoot of the Salamanders, possibly with charcoal and Lava as the color scheme, or if not maybe grey with green snake scales.

So with Option 1, I drop both dreads and 1 tactical squad in the 1st round.
The will hopefully land behind enemy tanks, and be a big target, allowing my 3 tanks to get into range.
The 2 other tactical drop pods I am glad will not be around at 1st as they will grab objectives later in the game.

With Option 2, I expect the Land Raiders will get alot of attention, but as they are very tuff I hope 1 or both will make it into combat. The Chaplain goes with the all Lightning claws squad, so they get rerolls on to hit and to wound. I will have to drop 2 tactical squads on rd 1, but I will still have the last squad to land later in the game. This option hits harder in Close Combat imo, but is less likely to get there...

My last consideration is that option 2 is cheaper to buy, and smaller to paint, both are positives
