Silly question

what is a rivet point? On page 7 it talks about some units requiring rivet points to deploy. And some scenarios also state: rivets 1.
I'm just wondering what these are, and how they are acquired.

I am sure it is in the rule books but I did not see it anywhere. My wife says I suffer from Man-Syndrome.

Rivets are acquired at the start of your turn, usually 0, 1 or 2 at a time. As laid out by the scenario description, or player agreement if custom scenario.
They (thus far) are used as part of deployment cost of certain units along with deployment points. Unlike deployment points which evaporate after the deployment phase if unused, rivets can be saved up.
