I know it's a wip but it seems like the paint has a rough texture. If the light you are working under is putting out to much heat and drying the paint on the brush you may want to try using a wet pallet. They are easy to make. If you are painting on top of your previous work I would dip the mini in simple green overnight to strip it to the metal. You did a great job on the face this time.

I cleaned it to the metal then I started again with white prime, I am guessing that it's because my white prime (AV white primer) is a bit too rough...
I tried using a wet pallet before but the paint got diluted and runny and it become so hard to paint... perhaps next time when I start on a new mini I will try using that again...
thanks for the tip :)

hmmmmm
First, vast improvement. Good job.
Now your comment about a wet pallet makes me wonder if you're putting on the paint too thick. You can water it down quite a bit and lay on many very thin layers for good effect.

Yeah, it's a shame about the roughness but that's really come together this time, the face is very expressive, well done :good:

Practice getting the paint on smoothly. Be sure to let each brushstroke dry before applying more over the top. Play with paint thickness. Muck about more with a wet pallette, it should keep the paint wet but not water it down further.

The main tweak I'd suggest is to fill in the pink on her belly beneath the corset laces rather than leaving it as flesh. There are also some suggestions of moldline lurking. I hate mini prep but it's worth perservering with, particularly as you push from TT to display amounts of time spent on each mini :)

Cheers, B.

Hi Vegel, small pic but that looks a lot smoother, well done :good:

Your wet-pallet, looks as though you've done the same as me first time, using a deep container. Too much hassle having to reach in, use the lid of the container instead. Or at least that was my solution ;) Also, trim the paper so that it sits flat on the sponge, rather than curling up the sides. Stops the paper drying out from the edges quickly, which in turn dries the paint sat on it.

Cheers, B.
