Shael Han Hammer of Heaven and forced movement

During a game we started discussing the Hammer of Heaven's "Grab" ability.

Grab: Enemies targeted by this attack are forced into contact with this model.

Now, how flexible is this attack really? By "forced into contact" does it mean the target receives a "forced move" which should bring the targeted model into contact with the Hammer of Heaven? Or should the targeted model simply be picked up and relocated into contact?

If it is indeed a forced move, is there a limit to the distance? Obviously the attack itself has only a 2" range, but if the attack is made over an intervening, non-blocking (such as a line of other models), can the forced move[/] have the target move the long way around all interposing models? And could the Hammer of Heaven's player bring the targeted model into contact in such a way that it forces the targeted model into contact with other models as well - at a different angel than the shortest possible distance into contact?

I can't find anything that indicates that forced movement has have to be in a straight line?

On the other hand if there is no movement involved, just a relocation into contact with the Hammer of Haeven: What if there is no room to place the targeted model in contact? Is the whol relocation cancelled, or should the targeted model be placed "as close as possible"?

Forced movement does not have to be in a straight line unless it is specifically states "directly toward/away". If there is not a distance listed then it is until the listed criteria is met (Core Rules, Pg. 11 "Forced Movement", "Toward and Away", "Directly" sub-sections).

If there is no space for the enemy model to be moved into contact then the ability cannot be used.

So the "Grab" special rule is a forced movement, not a forced "relocation" of the model? Thank you!

Also, when you say the ability cannot be used I read that as the action can be performed (The Hammer of Heaven's "Spiked Chain" melee attack), but the Grab special rule would not trigger?

Thank you very much for clearing that up! It can cause some really strange visuals on the gameboard (in the game we played the Spiked Chain ended up dragging my Kaxes 9" around a line of Dragon Legionnaires), but I'm cool with that! :) Good fun!

That's how we play it. Haven't had him pull something 9" ala House of Flying Daggers yet though.
