Shading Ork skin

Hey guys Im getting ready to start on a new ork commander and Im really wanting to put some time and effort into this. One thing Im wanting to work on specifically is giving the ork skin a cold feel, almost as to convey the idea of a cold killer in the night, hes a kommando . the question is how do I achieve this? do I put thin washes in the deepest recesses or do I mix a dark blue in my darkest shade of green, or something else? thanks in advance

You can mix dark blue, dark purple, or any other dark color and get a good result.

aye, that or maybe a little brown

I have used a really dark red to good effect. VMC Black Red is a good colour for it.

I\'d definitely go with blue-greens rather than a mid-green or yellow-green shade if you want this to come across. And maybe keep the overall palette cool (more blue or cyan), to further sell the point.

Sorry... missed the bit about the cold feeling. Red will give you a warmer look. Also nice, but apparently not what you\'re after this time. :innocent:
