Hi all!

At the end of august I've painted my Alyena mini (a rare piece from confrontation), her skirt is basecoated with VMC cavalry brown, few months have passed and I've used cavalry brown for rust effect on my Aberation (approx a month ago)...
Cavalry brown was MATTE both times... Now I've painted my Sentinels of Danakils' skirts with cavalry brown and it's shiny or at least satin...
Im'm pretty annoyed by this because I lke this color...
Any suggestions?

Some matt medium added to the paint should do the trick. Or lightly dust the mini after painting with Dullcote.

thank you! :) rather matte medium, I'd hate to see the metallics loose their shine :D
BTW... should I mix matte medium directly into the pot.. or just tu the amount of paint I use?

Just add a couple of drops to what you're using at the moment. If you have access to the old Rackham line of paints, mixing in a bit of the relevant colour you're using at the moment is also supposed to turn the result completely flat matte. Never tried it, though. Personally, I prefer to use a really light dust of Dullcote, as opposed to matte medium - sometimes, the brands of medium and paint don't play well.

I've used Cavalry brown a few times and I've had a similar issue, but that was due to insufficient agitation of the bottle on my part.
I suspect that the pigment has some tendancy to separate from the binder making it a little shiney. Give it some serious Rattle for a minute or two, or as long as your arm can stand it then try again.
Failing that Vallejo Matt medium doesn't alter the colour only the reflectivity.

Aye I also have had that trouble, a piece of metal sprue will help agitate it more. If not, matte medium, as mentioned, will help
