Sedition wars what is your impression?

I like it. The boards are fine, the counters are fine, the figures are awesome, and the rules are workable, and getting better refined by the day. And the fact that the box contains all you need for two people to play (including the playing surface), it's great for get togethers.

i think the tokens came out fine. my boards were OK after the initial warping. the figures are outstanding, really - fantastic detail. the rules are a bit squishy, but very fun. be sure to check out the faq at studio mcvey before playing, it clears up a lot and has some important rules fixes and rulings that will help balance game play.

Pretty much what has been said.

Boards - fine
counters - fine
cards - fine
minis - ace
rules - fun, and getting nearer to that intangible "perfect" every day.

I agree with what is said so far. I haven't play a single game yet (even though 3 people in my group have the game) so can't speak about the rule. I know there were problem with the board and counters, I have my issue...contacted CMON, got a respond saying they are backed up. That was a month ago, and haven't heard back from them. Tried to contact them twice. Cards are good.

I bought the game mainly for the miniatures. And they came out great! They can be hard to clean...but for the price and the number I'm getting, I'm fine. Putting the miniature together require you to know some modeling. But that was the intention all along, and Studio McVey did a good job at putting the instruction on their blog.

That's my 2 cents on this game.

I think the game has a strong foundation/parts but for a million dollar game I expected polished rules. The rules have been a bit of a disappointment for me.

agreed, i was hoping for a ...more refined rule set. still content with the purchase, though.

Agreed, but there's been a lot of work on the game, so I'm feeling good about its future. It also is the company's first game, so I'm a bit more forgiving feeling.

Then lets get together and play! :)

Of all the kickstarters I've gone in on this has been the most disappointing.

The material the minis are made from is not great. Soft, tedious to clean up and stick together. They've stayed in the box, uninspiring when others exist to slap together and paint easier.

Tiles, mine haven't noticeably warped but the art is hardly electrifying. The LoS issues aren't as well addressed as they could have been either.

Quite like the direction the rules took, but it appears they weren't adequately tested.

I'm either going to sell mine or give it away to a mate/charity.

I felt the same way as Wyrmpops about the models when I first got it and I painted the low level infected primed the rest and shoved it back in the closet not even play testing it.

When the rest of it came in the mail it to got stuck in the closet. But now that I got some time on my hands I went back and painted the rest of the core box and I am really happy with the figures. Turns out they have a ton of detail and look really cool. I am now just starting the terrain pack and that stuff looks really good too. I am disappointed in the KS exclusive minis or addons that I got in the second batch the scale is noticeably smaller and that sucks.

As far as gameplay I hope to see how it goes down as soon as I complete the terrain.

I posted some picks of my painted stuff here https://www.facebook.com/ontargestudios

I'd rate SW like this:
4/5 Miniatures - very good sculpts, monopose grunts, so-so plastic material is the real killer
3/5 Boards & Tokens - pretty, but not enough focus on clarity for play
1/5 Rules - terribly overcomplicated with exploding 3d6 mechanics and excessively detailed wound tracking - an obvious freshman effort that confuses complexity with depth
2/5 Scenarios - decent concepts, but obviously not playtested for balance; campaign has no concept of incremental introduction of concepts.
3/5 Value - lots of models and bits, but not especially good quality
0/5 Community - players and owners hate the game, and it's soured on me. No enthusiasm, no community, lots of griping.

For the same $100+ I dropped on SW, I wish I had waited. Oh, well, I'm choosier now.
