Sealing metallic paints

I\'ve only have two minis under my belt (and the first was seven years ago). I\'m not quite ready to try NNM, and I already have some metallic paints that I want to use.

My question is, how would one go about sealing a mini with metallic paints without loosing the natural sheen of the metal parts?

I am not in favor of using a extreamly glossy sealent as there are areas that just would not look right if they were all super shiney, and after skimming the forums brush on coats scare me. I would be devisated if I ruined my paint job.

Hi and welcome to the forums. Do you want to seal them to prevent the paint rubbing off during handling?

After my mini is finished, I use the Matte Varnish spray from GW to protect my mini, then I go back and paint on some liquid gloss varnish onto the metal areas where I want a shine. This might not be the best way to go about it, but I think the results are good.

Most things I paint I don\'t bother sealing, as they will not be handled much. If I do want to seal a mini, though, I usually save the metallic stuff till last and paint it after having sealed the mini with Dullcoat.
