Hey, my first new topic!!:flip:
Here\'s the rough image:
I\'m currently working on a converted chaplin for my dark angels, based loosely around the Asmodai artwork in the Chapter Approved book (and consequently, the Forge World mini.)
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/QUATERMASTERS_STORE_COLLECTOR_S_SERIES_5.html
(Scroll Down till the \"Asmodai Dark Angel MArine Chaplin\" figure)
Here\'s the detail:
The crozius top that I\'m using is the dark angel hood ornament from the Master of the Ravenwing boxed set. The wings on the bit are one solid chunk of pewter.:flame:

I\'ve already sawn out the middle of the bit, and filed the inside edges down to a usable thickness, but the outside has feathers and detail sculpted on. It\'ll look WAY out of place if the inside is all smooth:|~.
Does anyone have any tips for sculpting on very small feathers to wings? I was thinking of just putting a thin layer of GS on the inside, and then using the GW standard sculpting tool to carve in little grooves that resemble feathers. sound like a winning plan? anyone?
Thanks in advance!!
Smokey
