Sculpting after painting - is it advisable?

I am currently in the process of converting a Reaper Clay Golem. It has not been primed yet, and I still have some sculpting to do, but I don\'t know if I want to wait until after the paint job is done or not. What I would like to attempt is to have a toga draped over one of its shoulders. The mini is so heavily muscled that I would rather get the flesh done then sculpt the toga afterwards. At the same time, whatever is under the toga will not be seen so what is the difference? If any sculptors out there have any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Richard

Is it possible that you could mould the toga over the unpainted mini. But not mould as so it\'s actually stuck to the mini.

You could then paint the two part\'s seperatley and superglue them together afterwards.

It would depend on how you want the toga to hang and wrap itself on the mini.

I\'ve done some minor putty work after painting in the past and it\'s a pain in the butt. Try to get it done before painting if you can.

<edit> Dangit, simultaneous postage. I meant to agree with the first guy ;) </edit>

Thanks for the advice. I did the sculpting last night and will prime it tonight. It doesn\'t look bad for a first time sculpting job of this type.
