Sculpting a Gun Firing

Im working on an inquisitor and wanna make it look like his gun just fired. So there is something coming out the barrel, kinda of a mini explosion i guess. I dont know how to start, i figured i scuplt it with green stuff but i have never sculpted anything. Anyone have any ideas on how to do this.

Difficult to do realistically since you\'re sculpting somethign that\'s not solid but a gas. Basics: stick a wire in the end of the gun and make a irregular drop shape. The shape of the flash will depend on gun type and whether or not it has a surpressor.

All these are slug-throwers by the way. I don\'t know what your inquisitor is using.

By the way, soldiers will not be very happy with big muzzle flashes. It gives away their position.

On Cody\'s Coop he made a conversion of a large scale anime model firing, without the muzzle flash. Take a good look, the muzzle goes back like in a real gun (no idea how bolters funtction, though) and the casing can be seen ejecting. It gives a lot of motion and animation for a gun while standing still.. Hope this helps!

The problem with a bolt gun is that it fires micro self propelled missles, so I don\'t know if a regular gun flash would be \"fluffy\".
However when I do muzzle fashes I usually use a teardrop shaped piece of greenstuff, with the fat end of the tear glued to the barrel.
