I\'ve converted a Darth Malak miniature and want to make a scenic base. Rocks and grass don\'t seem right. Anyone have suggestions/photos for how I can make the base look like the interior of a starship?

You could do something with plasticard and maybe some brass etched details. You can get riveted strips in different sizes, for instance. It wouldn\'t be much trouble getting the look you\'re after.

You can by the scenic bases but I would make a step out of plasticard then put some fine mesh on the bottom step and rivets (cut from thin rod) on the top step. When you paint it paint a line and a number on the top step.

An \"industrial\" base made out of plastic card and window screen is definitely the way to go. You must know the kind of thing we\'re referring to.

I certainly have a general idea of what you all mean, but I\'m not particularly accomplished at making scenic bases, so any specific pointers/how tos would be helpful.

Of course, putting him on a robot above lava is a pretty good idea . . .

If you want to give him a grating style base, you would first need to cut him from the base. It\'s bit tricky with these minis but can be done with patience and care.

Next get some fine mesh, turn the base upside doen on the mesh and draw around it, cut ot the shape glue it on, file any rough edges away, paint it, stick him on an instant grating.

or you could cut the mesh in half, and glue it on, and glue plastic card to the other half to give it a bit of grating, and metal effect.
