This is my first post here on CMON. Feel free to rip it apart. The goal is to improve.

Here is my Land Raider Crusader for my Salamander Space Marine Army. There are more pics on my website.

That must of taken ages!lol The green where you have\'nt got the pattern looks a little flat. Other than that a very good job

Welcome to the forums. No need to rip it apart as it is quite awesome.

I do have some suggestions.
1)evilmonki\'s comment about the flatness is correct. The scales are so great looking that the flat green looks boring and flat.
2)The scales are awesome but I think you could use more things to break it up a bit. Iconography, weapons, bags....that kinda thing. The scales perhaps are too overwhelming and need things to break up the long areas of continuous scaling.
3)More gold and silver use. There are some spots that could definately use some gold and silver paint. These colors overall are used sparingly and help break up the greenyness.
4)Perhaps some dirtyness? Mud, dust, etc.

Those are just some suggestions for an already witchin\' piece. Take em or leave em. Can\'t wait to see more of your work.

Hi^^

That is very nice, very clean, well though and well executed.
However there is a little plastic feeling about it, maybe some battle damage or dirt, or just a different varnish could help it.

I\'m with GreenOne on this. Cracking paint job, but it could use a little dirt, dust, or battle damage. It looks like a picture from the sales brochure or like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
And welcome to the Forums. Hope to see more of your work soon. GOod stuff.

:eek::eek::eek:Got a 10 from me. Not only did you take on something VERY challenging but you pulled it off perfectly. Sometimes I would agree with the above about \'dusting\' things up a bit but clean works well also.

Thanks all for the replies....glad you like it.

Yeah, DrEvilmonki this tank took about 85 hours about half of which were the monotinous scaling.

For the most part I agree that the non scaled areas are flat. I have a little trouble with shading large flat areas. I didn\'t want the scales to overpower the model and I thought that scaling the entire thing would do just that. I probably should have spent more time around the rivets to give some depth to the flat panels.

mrteal, where would you suggest that i add more of the nmm gold or silver?

As for the battle damage, since i have started my army with a stegadon dreadnought (pics of this are on my webpage) and this LRC without battle damage I will probably keep with the showroom floor feel (at least for this project).

A bit off topic, since I am new to CMON, is it unusual to see only 20 votes in 162 views? Also, can anyone explain the \"status waiting\" tag above the rating in my add/edit pictures section?

I would love to see something gold between smoke launchers and lights, just a touch of something small and perhaps some gold around the hatch area. Also I think you could add something on the front of the bolter sponsons where they attach to the tank. And my favorite thing is gold or silver something on the front hatch, nobody seems to do things with that area. Maybe between the raised lines. These few things I think would not clutter the overall feeling.

Your silvers and golds are so great. It is awesome and so well done. These are just friendly suggestions to maybe make this even better.

hey thistle, awesome tank!

Welcome to the forums. It is not at all unusual to see 1 fifth or less of the viewers voting (my ogre... Average: 7.0 | Votes: 53 | Views: 424), but if you want to boost your votes, put a shout in the shoutbox :) as for the status waiting thing, it just means that the mods haven\'t reviewed/approved it yet, but votes can still be made on it. The mods have a lot of pics to check, but your photo will be valid in a couple of days at the most :) keep up the good work

happy painting

The shade of green looks a bit strange to me, but the paintjob itself is great. Great work, and good to see another Salamander player out there :D

Land raider

I have already given this beauty a 10 ,its a superb piece of painting and the Salamanders have such cool colours and iconography which have all been so excellently rendered on this model. There is one small thought i would throw out for all Sci/Fi , A.F.V modellers.Tracked veihcles go through terrain as much as over it, as a result it would add to the realism of these models if the running gear was a bit more grungy and weathered. There are plenty of W.W.2 Panzer articles in various military modelling mags that can help with techniques all of which are very simple.Keep up the great work ! GOD bless ..............VINCENTI

you shoulda used silvers instead of greys. That\'s all and the green is a little dull, I say to take some mesh from a window screen and wrap some \"enemy\" models in in and make it look like it straped to the landraider, that might work, add the stats for the salamanders army here please and sign the forum \"SPACE MARINES UNITE!!!\" add the stats here...here
