A 2d6 roll I think defeats a lot of the strategy in the game. Like the instance where they had the person with a katana run up to try to hit the runner hiding behind the fatty. They needed two hits, so it was a bit of a gamble, but worked out in their favor, and essentially removed a serious threat from the board. Plus I'm quite happy with the high friendly-fire rate, it just requires serious tactical considerations to be made throughout the game, which I find to be rather spiffy.
Maybe you're right and the pistol is melee-friendly like the shotgun. I suppose that makes sense, since it's more focused than SMGs and not as unwieldy as a rifle. Which leads to something else I was wondering: Will we be able to see the cards some time along with the rules? That could allow for some more considerations in scenario design, such as hiding specific weapons/items in harder to reach places, or something. I'm getting a vague idea of what everything does, but more specifics would be lovely.
