Rise of Moloch - Shambling zombies to Flaming zombies: how do they transform and live

The shambling zombies have the "Immolate" power [if this zombie is in the same square as a fire token, replace it with a flaming zombie].

That rule is mostly clear, but I can't understand how a Flaming zombie would survive it's next activation.

Here's how I see this playing out.
Nemesis activates minions. Shambling zombie moves onto fire token, gets replaced with flaming zombie, who is now standing on a fire token.

  1. Flaming zombie does not activate, since it was not on the board when all minions activated. When the next minion activation occurs, flaming zombie is neutralized, since it is standing on a fire token.
  2. Flaming zombie activates, is standing on a fire token, takes damage from fire token and is neutralized.

Net effect: nemesis has lost a minion.

I must have missed a rule somewhere, since it seems that transforming shambling zombies into flaming zombies will never work.

So, some questions:
a) If a shambling zombie moves onto a fire token and gets replaced with a flaming zombie, does the flaming zombie get a full activation? Or does the flaming zombie have to wait until the next "minion activation" before it can do anything?
b) are flaming zombies immune to fire tokens?
c) are fire tokens removed when a shambling zombie steps on them and gets replaced with a flaming zombie? (i.e. does the "it" in the Immolate power refer to the shambling zombie, the fire token, or both?)

and it was pointed out to me that the flaming zombie card very clearly states that they take no damage from fire tokens.

I shall try to actually read the cards before I start asking questions about them.
