Reported???

Hey all,

I logged in today & checked my gallery and noticed that my ranking had dropped from 499 to 707 which I thought was a bit odd. When I looked closer, I saw that my bloodthirster (highest scoring mini) had a status of \'Reported\'.

I don\'t know what this means or why an image might be reported so was wondering if any of you could throw any light on it, especially how to get the status back to normal.

Have any of you encountered anything similar before?

Thanks in advance

It\'s a linked picture but the link still works, ie it shows up on the screen *** link ***.

The irritating part is that the votes for it don\'t count while it\'s reported, hence the 200 place drop in the rankings. Not the biggest thing in the world and I\'m sure it\'s just temporary although it was a bit of a shock to see this morning having only just broken the 500 barrier lol

I was just curious as to what might lead to an image being reported and how to avoid it in future ???

Sorry for double post, but I\'ll place a vote on it to see if it leads to a broken image box. Mods please feel free to delete the vote as it\'s on my own mini.

EDIT: Vote worked and didn\'t result in a broken link. Thankfully it didn\'t affect the overall score either

It does happen I am afraid...

If a picture fails to load a certain number of times it gets reported and goes back to Borg for re-approval. Obviously linked images can suffer from a broken link...but this is not the case here...Unless it has now just been re-established?
If it is a large image, people on dial-up may lose patience and just pass on to the next image.
Some times images don\'t fully load, because people click straight on another link, the forums for example. This also \'reports\' the image.
Sounds like you have just been unlucky, but Borg should soon have it back up:D

yep, I think it happens from time to time to all of us with minis posted, it\'ll be back up in anywhere from a couple hours to a day or two.

I even have to admit there has been once or twice I\'ve totally forgotten you have to let the photo load before clicking on another link (like to log in) and reported a photo...I felt horrible about it! :(

Come to think of it I\'m guilty of that myself. I\'ll definitely be sure not to do it in future now I know what happens

I wouldn\'t lose any sleep.....

A picture has to be reported a few times before it gets sent back to be re-moderated. The odd occasion is unlikely to trigger it, unless you are one of the really unlucky ones, or have a slow-loading image.
