Religious miniatures

I am looking for miniatures that portray Jesus Christ or other figures of the bible. I am trying to paint something for my Mom and Dad. Please direct me if you can.

Thunderbolt Mountain has a Holy Family set (Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus) in 54mm

I seem to remember seeing a larger set in 25mm, but I can no longer remember where.

I think Reaper. Some others do as well, but I can’t remember their names.

I would love to see some biblical miniatures, but I think that would open a whole cans of worms.

How many assholes do you think would defile an image of Christ just because they want to piss off Christians or try and be ‘unique’?

Probably nowhere near close, but the Warmachine Menoth faction has a miniature called the \'Monolith Bearer\' which caused quite a stir.

Hey, most of us who have issues with Christianity think that Jesus, who was probably a real person, was a really kind and decent guy (especially for his time). His goodness shines through millennia of scriptural monkeying by some very cruel and unpleasant people. But yeah, I guess there are some jerks out there who\'d think that \"Jesus being eaten by Slaanesh\" would be a hilarious diorama...

To the OP, I\'d say forget about \"miniatures\", go to one of those churchy bookstores and try and find a small figure of some kind you can repaint.

There\'s a model of Buddy jesus available, its about 20 cm tall. I gave one to my friend some years ago as birthday present.

I guess church bookstores or souvenier shops like No Such Agency said are best to get some religious \"miniatures\". Some will look great given a good paintjob.

I am not a religious man. I don\'t like the current pope f.e. and most of catholic staff either...but I think Jesus must have been one of the greatest man ever. Even if he didn\'t exist, there are so many good things you can learn form his stories. So I hope I never see such miniatures (Slaanesh eating Jesus)...its a matter of respect!

The only religious figures I can think of that Reaper\'s done are its Angel of Mercy, Angel of Light, Angel of Peace, and Cupid and Cherubs.

Here\'s a link to Thunderbolt Mountain\'s Nativity miniatures. It looks like there are plans to expand to include the Magi and some other pieces, but I\'m pretty sure I saw that same statement on the page a year ago, so who knows when.

I think the idea of looking for something suitable through religious outlets rather than miniature ones is a good one. You might even try the dollar store. I\'m not at all religious, but I did a couple of searches to see what I could come up with and found some prospects.

Rawcliffe is a company that does collectible pewter. They even take some Reaper sculpts, add crystals and antique them up a little and sell those. They have a nice though expensive full Nativity scene. They also have a nice angel in the Pewter Ornaments section and a selection of religious themed pendants. I also found a site with Mexican pewter, and loads of places with religious pewter charms. I just did a quick search on \'pewter religious\'.

You might Google \'Christmas figurines\' or try the same on Ebay. Catholic\'s and the Orthodoxy have a lot of icons and such. There may be something there too.

I tried - Jesus pewter - and there were actually a lot of fig\'s.

I realize they don\'t usually get talked about here, but there are a ton of religious ceramics out there. I have gifted my mother in law with a variety of well painted ceramic figures both in the Xmas and religious varieties.

He\'d probably say he looks like a Schmiel.
Shlemiel (sorry, Leo Rosten insisted).

Maybe he\'d think it was dreck but who knows, maybe he\'d think he looks like a mensch? Ah, if only Jesus actually spoke Yiddish, wouldn\'t that be classic? :D
