red hair

For blonde hair you can add silver paint.

Thing is, if you look at hair, because it goes in all sorts of angles, there are tons of *tiny* hot reflection spots. Just a tiny bit of metalic flakes in the paint helps recreate this effect.

Also, if the hair is nicely textured, a wash can sometimes add that little something too - but if you already like the effect you have, don\'t ruin it :)

I like the metallics idea - hadn\'t thought of that :)

Never had any luck with red or blonde.

I\'ve just done a figure with a classic Ginger Beard using Vallejo Model Colour. Basecoat Cavalry Brown, Highlight with Light Brown, Flares and keylights with Ivory mixed in then Ivory for the final Hotspot.

There are so many options for Blondes (probably why they have more fun lol ) But try VMC Beige, then darken down with a wash of GW Snakebite and then rehighlight with Beige, Add Flares Keylights and Totspots by using the most useful colour in Vallejo\'s range --- Ivory.

Red hair depends on the shade your looking for really, whetehr deep nearer chestnut brown or the bright Maureen O\'Hara style.

I\'ve always found shading up from dark to light and ink washing with v dilute nut brown or deep red (Windsor & Newton colours)

Depends on the type of finish (Gaming or GD) you have time to do really. But try experimenting is the key

I know the subject line was red hair, but since blonde came up: this is the best blonde hair I can remember seeing recently:
