Sometimes they come back, part II

his is my own version of the Crimson Knight... yeah, i know it\'s not SO crimson!:D

I painted this after a looong looong time away from mini painting because of too much work and too little sleep, but i\'m quite satisfied with the ending...

i also made some experiment with his base, using a large piece of cork and snow made with PVA glue and baking soda.

I\'m willing to hear your comments/criticisms/questions as usual!

Yeah, the snow looks great! I\'ve been meaning to try that myself, but I haven\'t painted a suitable mini for it yet... Good stuff Luca! Good to have you back! :D

Louis, I think that the red shield goes to a too dark shadow color. First time I have ever said that someone used too much range in the color. But I love the robes and the fade down the length of the edging. Very nice.

Wow....that\'s a really nice model! The shading and blending is really smooth. I really like the shield - very striking.

Right I\'m off to vote..... gonna give it a 9 me thinks ;)

finesse!:idea: ...that was the word I was looking for, to me the sleeves seemed to lack the finesse of the rest of the robes especially the blue areas :cool:, which I thought where excellent :bouncy:

I love the base. Most times a snow base looks like a wedding cake, but this base is really fantastic.

A copy of that picture goes in my \"good ideas\" file!

Very nice Luca. Glad to see you back painting. I always like looking at your stuff. Voted 9 on it as well. The NMM looks good. I like the deepness of the reds on the shield and wings. The blues are nice and cold looking.

Seriously thought, good job. I like the light blue trim.
