Ravenwing Troops

Bit of a conundrum para ti,
Want....no....NEED to start a Ravenwing army [using electrolito\'s paint scheme....hehe..] BUT i don\'t want to paint Dark Angels, can the bikers be troops if it\'s only them, after all they are a separate company?! Also can you use Deathwing as troops cos\' that would be SWEET:drool:

I\'m not sure how you could do Ravenwing without doing Dark Angels, but you could always roll your own chapter with the \"Be Swift as the Wind\" rule. That allows you to take bikes as elites or troops. Stick your HQ on bikes and be Hell\'s Angels.

Well as far as I know you can build an army solely of the ravenwing, lead by the master of the ravenwing - you´would not need to use any green dark andgel models, if thet´s what you mean.

Yeah if you take Sammael as your HQ you can take Ravenwing squadrons as Troops or Fast Attack. Those squads include regular bikes, and can also be upgraded to have attack bikes and Tornadoes with assault cannons.

You can mix and match any other unit types as you please, but you can surely do all Ravenwing if you want.

And you can use Successor Chapters or your own chapter with Ravenwing rules, it just says to change the names of the special character leading your force

Providing you use a LEGAL army list from a legal codex, then you can paint them any colour you want and call them anything you want.

I have seen this done many a time in tournaments (especially with the blood Angels list, F*8%£!ng honour Guard!!) And is also a great way of writing some characterising and original background fluff and still build a perfectly legal gaming army from the codex.
