I'm currently working on making a custom base using pumice gel (Golden extra course medium) and cork. I plopped some cork pieces into the wet pumice gel to see if it would stay put when dry. So far, the pieces seem pretty solid but I'm not sure how well the adhesion will keep up or if it just dries too brittle. Can anyone else attest to whether or not pumice gel essentially replace glue in this case? Or should I yank the cork out and use some glue instead? I've got an image of the base below to give an idea of how thick the gel currently is.
