Project Log

It\'s been awhile since I did any sort of WIP on here or even any serious painting. Unfortunately I had other obligations to deal with so not only did I not get to paint as much as I would of liked but, also fell behind on commission projects. With things starting to settle down a bit I finally have more time and the time needed to devote to all these projects so figured I\'d get a WIP log going.

I have one more outstanding commission which is nearly complete that I won\'t bother posting on here but that should be done within the next couple of days and then on to these projects.

Here is a quick idea of what I\'ll be working on.

WFB Goblin Army
Foundry Colonial British Line Infantry Regiment
W40k Space Marine Blood Raven Army
Old Glory Napoleonic Polish Line Infantry Regiment
WFB Ogre Army
WFB Chaos Chosen Regiment

That\'s pretty much what I\'ve got lined up for the time being, I\'m sure I\'ll end up adding more in there. To start with here is a quick shot of the goblin army prepped, primed and ready to go. I should have updates within a few days.

Well I was able to get the British prepped for painting today as well as type up an article on how I went about making the flags, which I\'ll post a link to in here soon as it\'s made active.

I am planning on basing these guys on a historical regiment. The 63rd (The West Suffolk) Regiment of Foot. Formed in 1744 the regiment participated in many key battles during the American Revolution, the Napoleonic Wars as well as the Crimean War. This particular unit is from the time they served in the Americas.

I am really looking forward to slapping some paint on these so I\'ll try and get some updates soon.

I was able to get one flag done today. Overall I am quite satisfied with it. And as promised here is a close up with better detail.

Also, here is a LINK to my how to article on the flags.

I had to set the Brits aside for the time being and get back to the Goblin army commission. Managed to get a couple units done.

Fanatics:

Archers:

They are done to a fairly simple table top standard so nothing special. Although I must admit that the archers were a lot more time consuming than I had originally planned because of the little details such as the arrows and quivers.

Next up will be a unit of spearmen as well as some Uncharted Seas starter fleets.

I can\'t agree more with Donga, nothing wrong with simple at all, my friend! They\'re clean and crisp and very well done. Don\'t degrade your work.

I\'m excited to see some more, especially of your British troops.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys! More Goblin goodness to follow within the week.

I had some time today so decided to get a sample done for a customer for the next commission.

I\'ve been commissioned with two starter fleets for The Uncharted Seas. Which is a naval fantasy game from Spartan Games. I guess this will also be more of a reveiw of the products since the game as far as I know is still fairly new.

The two fleets are a Dwarf fleet consisting of 1 Battleship, 3 Cruisers and 6 Frigates. In game terms this makes up a battle group. And an Orc fleet consisting of the same vessels.

The models themselves are a bit plain and not terribly exciting, but considering that they are meant to be a smaller scale the quality is quite good and overall I am pleased with them.

The first model I did was a Dwarf cruiser which, size wise to give those of you who haven\'t had a chance to see these models a better size idea, is about 2 inches long, 3/4 of an inch wide and 3/4 of an inch tall.

Tomorrow I\'ll post the finished Orc sampler

Oh, and to add to the review. The customer was kind enough to include the rulebook for reference. I had a chance to read through the rules. They are fairly easy to learn and although my first impression is that the game seems a bit limited as far as rules/options/ships etc, it also seems that they have a lot of new things in production and are planning on adding and expanding quite a bit. The only other thing that seems like a con to me about the game is that there is a card system. Where drawing a different card each turn will give your fleet specific advantages/bonuses. In theory this sounds great but in practice at least for my liking and in my opinion in today\'s fast paced action packed war games using cards can be quite cumbersome and even more time consuming. overall as I said though it seems like a fairly fun and interesting game.

(No Spartan Games isn\'t paying me to give them a good review. lol.)

That boat is tiny and extremely well detailed.

Let me go pick my lower jaw up off the floor now.

Next up I\'ll be starting on another Goblin unit and finishing each of these two fleets.

Cheers everyone.

Well Maciej (NGArtStudios) and I(AntnolArts) have been working together for the past few years. We have big plans for the future so we thought it would be a good idea to let people know that we are in fact working together. Here is my latest commission that I just finished tonight. After working on them every night after work for the past 2 weeks, I am taking tomorrow off lol.

As far as your stuff goes, Maciej, Very nice man. I was thinking those boats were bigger but you did very well for as small as they are. The goblins look very nice as well. I will have a unit of DE Executioners next.
