Project Empire < a 3000+ pt army wip >

Well my wife told me straight a few days ago, paint my large empire army or get rid of it.

its been lying around the house and she is sick of it, most of it is not even built lol.

anyway thought if i did a wip i might get it done and save my minis !

This is my army colours, hope to have them painted to a nice gaming standard.

I have made all the swordsmen to look the same, to give a more uniformed look and feel to the army.

the next unit i will be building after the pistoliers are built, will be my empire band < will count as a free company >.


feedback please, and if anyone has any good ideas for empire units to make them different than the norm that would be great!

Looking good so far! (but please, don\'t let my wife speak to yours, she\'s already got that wargamers widow look in her eye and I get nervous whenever she does the hoovering!)

I am liking the colour scheme and the painting standard is great, especially for gaming. Its quite difficult to make an empire army not the \'norm\' as they are the equivillant to the norm in real life (especially as you are assembling all units the same for a more regimented look). The only thing I could suggest is to theme it strongly around a certain discipline, for example- Nuln artillery or the death Priests of Morr. Simple conversions like the pistolliers help too (liking the use of magnets there).

I also find it helps to name your characters and maybe even write up a bit of background fluff for them. If you can get a narrative going then the units can become much more characterful and may even inspire some cool conversions.
