Problems with my Paint

Hey guys, just looking for some advice here. Haven\'t been painting for a couple of months now and want to try and get back into it. Problem is my paints (GW) have been left in a cupboard for the last couple of months and are now either drying up or extremely thick - just wondering if i add some water will that fix them, or am i better off buying new paints?

Yes, you can \'revive\' paints by adding water back in. But I wouldn\'t do this with tap water if I were you. Distilled water is the only really safe thing to use for this but if you can\'t get any boil some tap water for about three minutes and use that (after it\'s cooled a bit!)

I\'ve never used these paints specifically, but some of them they might have sort of gelled - even this is not too far gone to get back to something like the original thickness. But you would probably need to scrape the paint out, add the water back in drop by drop while mixing with a palette knife, then transfer back to the pot.

You can revive paints, I do it frequently, but one thing to look out for is little bit\'s of dried paint that will mix in with the revived paint. Use either and piece of a tea bag of coffee filter to strain it. I never get around to doing that and thus as I\'m painting I am frequently having to pick little specks out of areas I\'m painting.

Yeah, hate that. This is one reason I\'m not a fan of jars or pots for paint, not that there\'s any choice with certain types.
