Hi, This sounds like a bandwidth problem to me, try pausing at the start, then play once the whole video is downloaded. Alternatively turn off everything else that may be using the connection such as limewire, msn, itunes, etc

What kind of hardware does your PC has?
The video is in HD, so requires a moderate spec to watch without any hiccup.

EDIT: Oh, what you described is what happen when I watch it in my notebook. I have to watch mine in my desktop which has much better hardware

Well... I'd give Quicktime a shot. I have zero issues using quicktime. No hesitiation, and none of the non synched vocals either.

Don't know what nvidia 120.87 is, but still, I think your hardware is probably fine. Probably software issue, try playing it in GOM player and see if the problem persists.

Miniature Mentor HD video playback

Hi Everyone,

the choppy playback issue is directly related to the computer's performance - it could be the CPU or the hard drive or both. HD files require a pretty powerful computer to playback the content smoothly - it's not like youtube or vimeo where the deccompression of the video is done on the server side. Our videos are downloaded to your hard drive which requires that your CPU handle the decompression. The benefit of this is that you get 30fps video, better quality and the ability to adjust sharpness and color.

to solve the problem try the following...

1. Use VLC - it's much faster than Quicktime.

2. Defragment your hard drive and make sure there is at least 20% - 30% free. Delete or move older stuff you don't need.

3. Turn off everything else including antivirus, pop-up killers, instant messaging, itunes, any automatic updaters and anything that starts unneccesarily. You can check the net to see how to do this. But remember to delete your history, cookies and cache after using the net because tracking cookies will reinstall themselves while browsing.

4. Make sure you are running off your main hard drive, not an external one.

5. Open the video, press play, then pause, and let it sit for about 5 mins to cache - then try to watch it. If that doesn't work, try reducing the size to 50%.

6. If your using a laptop make sure it's plugged in.

Best,

Support Team.

So like everyone else, I'm having issues with the latest addition for Miniature Mentor. Likely because it's in HD format, as I am able to play the other videos just fine. I did find a workaround for those that still want to use VLC. I'm on a Mac so my only real option is to use VLC. Just my opinion since Miniature Mentor is reading this thread is to possibly offer HD as an option for those that can't or have trouble playing those type of videos.

* Open the preferences
* Tick "ALL" in the lower right corner <----------------------- UPDATED for v1.0.1
* Go to "Input/Codec"
* Go to "other codecs" subcategory
* Go to "FFmpeg"
* Put the "skip-filter for H264" to all or Non-ref
* Restart VLC

This should at least get the video playing. Hope it works for everyone.

If you burn them to DVD or even just convert to dvd and then play them it will work without the choppiness or the stuttering speach.
