price for complete army

Hi all CMON\'ers
I have got a question regarding value of complete army. How much bigger the value is if all units in the army are fully painted to a high standard (around 8.0 for common troops, around 9 for heroes). single miniatures with this rating are sold on ebay for around 50$, and that price is resonable for more players ie. for his general. But the question is how many players is able to pay thousands (yes ) for an army. Gathering well painted figures together make them even more valuable or not?

I\'m curios because I have painted most of this army as a commission ( for less than 3k$ of course ) and didn\'t suspect that he will achieve such big price.
How much is it worth for you?

i think most of thatstuf would get 7\'s on coolmini. it depends on how big the army is. getting a 9 rating is hard enough ( remember thge tsunami aermy went for 3500 us dollars) some people pay ridiculous amounts for minis if they want them. i think this was a one off event personally

Its good to see an army go for that price. ALOT of people don\'t actually realize how long they would of taken a single person to paint them. Folk want painted minis for next to nothing. Good show i say :flip:

I doubt there are many people that could spend that much on an army. Generally painted armies go for far less than they are \"worth\". You are usuallybetter painting units and single figures.

There are patrons out there willing to spend what it takes to get armies of that quality. I am currently working with someone that is like that. The entire army is going to be 3-$5000 depending on the size... 2-3000 pts.

On the norm however you are better off painting up single figs and selling those. More people have the money to spend on single figures than on full armies or units.

I was watching this army sell on ebay and I can tell you with certainty that you would have made more money selling the army unit by unit all at the same time and then offering big shipping discounts. That way you have 1-3 people that want to buy the whole army and will pay high prices on random units that other people want in order to make sure they get the entire army and not just half of it. It encourages more bidders and it always always gets more money in the end.
