\"Prehistoric\" weapons

Swords have come up once or twice, in a GD thread, and in the latest gun thread at least. Seems there are a few of us who have a fascination with these weapons. I used to fence Epeé, and have practised some Shaolin sword forms with a dao. Now I\'m hoping that some day I\'ll be able to practise Taiji sword forms, when I\'m good enough. I recall that vincegamer used to fence too. So? How about everyone else?

However, perhaps the real reason for starting this thread is the abvsolute necessity to brag, though it has my wallet farting dust. :D Herewith my new Huanuo Royal Peony jian, with shark skin scabbard, sanmai blade (differentially tempered high-carbon steel, sandwiched by folded steel), and with a reputation of the most historically accurate contemporary jian. :bouncy:

A Taru! What server?

As with many roleplayers, I also collect weaponry and other \'anchient things\'

To go with WolfFangs post though, here\'s one of my Bayonettes, 1911 Swiss.

Along with these I have an FN bayonette and two fantasy daggers.

I own 3 sets of leather bracers, drinking horns, a longbow, leather gloves, leather drinking mug, lots of jewelery and lots more.

I have also been known as Gilvan in the Shire of Starleaf Gate if you know what I mean. :)

That\'s a gorgeous sword mate. Can sure tell the difference between a quality sword and one stamped out of a factory :)

The only weapons training I\'ve done is with fists, feet and sticks. I studied Wing Tsun (a variation of Wing Chun) Kung Fu, and Escrima, which is a Phillipino stick/knife fighting style. WC is what Bruce Lee grew up on, before he developed JKD. Fun stuff :)

Being pedantic, that\'s exactly what they are!
I have an antique 1870 era NCO\'s Household Cavalry Sabre. Owned by one of my family serving at that time.
