I can appreciate that the pics are not the greatest. Still working on that aspect of the hobby.

My thoughts on the mini in question were that it pretty much screamed that it was a Hulk waiting to be painted, but I wanted to go a bit of a different way in using reds for the skin. I had originally tried to make the glyphs glow but couldnt get it to work out, so ended up with basic black. The overall theme on the mini was a kind of god of war, or along those lines anyway. I left off the rest of the headdress that the mini comes with since I think it detracted from the over all look I was going for.

people are probably annoyed that you have used 3 submissions for one model. make a montage, it aint difficult (even i can do it). also i would prop him up against a different background, something plain like a piece of paper would be better than that.

also there is no indication of size, how big is he? painting that would be good on a 28mm model would look crap on a 54mm....

from the look of him, i'd say he looks ok. he's not based so that doesn't go in his favour. i would up the contrast on him. darken the shadows much more.

Thanks for the reply, The base issue is yet to be resolved, truthfully I am not sure if I am even going to keep it red. May strip it and go with a more basic flesh tone. the mini is actually a 70mm scale. The back ground issue is related to the photography set up I have(extremely simple).

I think it's OK, the contrast could be upped and Freakinacage makes some other relevant points as well.

I do love that model though! I have been toying with picking one up for a while. I liked "Planet Hulk" quite a bit. Even though World War Hulk turned out pretty lame.

It looks good overall!!

You could contrast a bit more. I know some of Yedharo's figures and they are great sculptures with a lot of character. I think for now leave it as is and move on to the next figure, but when you do colors like this contrast is key. The gold armor looks a bit plait with the intense red, therefore you need to create a bit more contrast in both red skin and gold armor. Some people even do a faint outlining between armor and skin to avoid the blend of the two. Hope this helps

yes it does help. red is a tough color for me I generally do better with earth tones, blues, and grey's. Thought about the outlining but thought it might be to much. in my Vision of this mini I had kind of thought of an Old God, kind of thing. With correspondingly simple armor. really wanted to try for glowing runes on the armor but couldn't get it right. have to work on that some more. may take a break from this mini as mentioned above. I have the capricorn from yedharo on the way. just wish Fausto was a bit more prolific, but if I had to chose between speed and quality, I'll stick with quality.

Couple of suggestions, not that I am an expert:
If you have trouble with some colors like red, you can give Andrea red paint set a shot. It is a good starting point.
As far as the picture, well it takes a bit of investment and a lot of playing around. the first hing is building a photo booth. something with a good background, probably black or dark grey for the red. Have about three light sources with deflectors so you wont get direct light into the mini. I know there is a lot of guides on doing this on the net, I will try to find some liks for you.
Tell you the truth I think you have just inspired me to do some painting, if I can find some time
