play a tactic card?

Hello from Finland!

I just had the first game of Kaosball tonight with a friend and we weren't able to understand what should we do if, for example, all of my field players are down before the period end?

Am I able to play energy card as a tactic card (without effect)? Just like I am able to play a cheating card or tactic card in a contest if i don't want to play energy card or i don't have any energy cards in my hand?

We were not able to find the answer from the rule book, but we guessed that it must be that way, or otherwise the period will never end.

We didn't have any other problems with the rules. It was a super fun game! I'm looking forward to get my hands to expansion teams and other possible expansions too! :male-fighter1:

You are not able to play energy cards in this fashion. You are however able to play tactic cards and cheat cards to work up to the nine card end of period. On the other hand your opponent needs to work to getting the +20 points to cause a blowout.

To have five of your figures knocked down you most likely have both played 5 cards for contests so only four left to burn.

We were close to this situation. I didn't want to tackle the last player of my friend, because we didn't understood the rule in the situation where all his players would be down.

Once during the game i had only energy cards in my hand. So i thought that it might be possible that when all of your players are down, you can't do nothing, because you have only energy cards in your hand. I guess it would be a rare situation, but still... so i guess if you are able to run in to this kind of situation, the team is automatically eliminated because opposite team doesn't need to play cards anymore, they can just keep on scoring?

It should be a very rare situation. And you are correct the other player at that point has no need to play any more cards and can keep scoring. Now one must bluff what is in your hand so that it becomes harder for 4 out of 5 of their people to be knocked down. :)

Hey thank you for your time! It's all clear now :)
