Plasticard Tube

Hello,

Dont suppose anyone has any idea where i can get some platicard tube which would fit over 3/32(2.38mm) brass rod.

I think ive tried 1/8(3.17mm) tube but its a bit to big.

Maybe 2.5mm - 3mm range. Tried the usual places like Antenociti\'s Workshop they only have 1/8.

Something that i can basically put over the rod so it starts to look like susspension.

Needed quick sharpish so UK supplier would be nice :D

Thanks in advance

Don\'t know about plasticard tube, but how about ink pen barrels, or the ink cartridge itself. These are often plastic.

plastic tube

Depending on the diameter there is also aquarium tubing and I even saw someone using a sucker / lollipop stick that wasn\'t the paper that turned to mush but actually plastic tubing for the stick as well.

To paraphrase an old adage:

I cant really pack the thicker tube as the point where it connects is smaller than the thicker tube but slightly bigger than the rod, if you get my meaning.

I remember looking for tubes that fit inside other tubes, to mimic suspension tubing or antennae and that sort of thing. I couldn\'t find much that fit with zero clearance at the smaller sizes.

You can always check the Plastruct and Evergreen sites for UK suppliers, if anyone has tubes and rods aplenty, it\'s them.

Your best bet might be to find a tube or rod a bit bigger than the inner rod. Then drilling out the outer tube/rod to the correct inner rods thickness.

4D modelshop in London normally has a good stock of the type of tube that you are looking for. They are good as a one stop shop to get most modelling bits and pieces; BUT they are expensive. If you can find the same product somewhere else then the chances are that they will be cheaper than 4D. Anyway link to plastic tubes :-

Might just bite the bullet and redo the susspension 2mm steel rod with 2.4mm plasticard tube over it then hide the difference with a piece of plasticard over the tube. Thanks for the help though guys.
