I need help deciding on a Tyranid Color Scheme, I\'m getting the Army Box from the Warstore late this week or early next :)

So Far I have, these are all rough ones I painted up to get an Idea of what it would look like:

Black and Bone(picture is a little blurry, I like it but kinda hard to see details from a distanceI dont think I love the bone shell with this one though and ideas for shell colors with the black purple?)

Dark Purple and Bone(This picture turned out the best, and I think it brings out the details a little more)

Red and Bone(actually using a darker mahogany brown as a base color and could use different shade of red for different bug types)

light brown\\bone(A Hybrd of Hivefleet Albino and the Altanta gamesday new nid army. Used the Light brown bone for the Skin and black with purpule highligh shells. I like that this scheme brings out the details in the figs, but seems like it could get boring)

What you think of these schemes? Also open to other ideas

The first one i think looks a little to plane and dark for a tyranid...... thats my taste black isnt my favourite colour for painting.

The second one i think is the best beacuse i think purple and the bone go nice together.

The red one would be my worst because i think the colour isnt that nice and doesnt go to well with the bone colour!

If i could see the last one a little better it could be the best from this angle but i dont know because the mininture is facing another way!!

I hope this helps but remeber this is my taste!!!!!

Good luck deciding on a scheme is a tedious thing but which is still a heap of fun to do so ENJOY!!!!!
plus with a bad scheme comes a bad mini:D

i too was having a hard time coming up with a paint scheme... however i ended up deciding on red blended into green skin with green carapace... looks good irl but does not photo well... lol

this is just a test run model (ive yet to start the actual army) (also the neck will be painted red like the skin)

Two schemes I\'ve used :

I think the main thing is to choose 2 contrasted colors to make it readable or 2 closely realated colors to make it more \"natural\" and linked to its surroundings.
