Piano wire pinning?

Has anyone tried using piano wire for pins? I can never line up my pinned joints exactly the way I like them, and I think piano wire would be just the thing instead of the the stiff paperclips, but will it hold them together?

Ever since I started doing my pinning with the following method, I haven\'t had a problem with lining up my holes:

To answer your question, though, I do believe some people have used piano wire in the past.

Thanks for the reply. I\'ll definitely give that method a try, although I\'m still a little concerned I won\'t get the angles right.

The angle is easy because the blue tack sausage from the hole comes out at the correct angle, so you just need to line the drill bit up and it will work fine.

I\'v pinned hundreds of holes this way and never had a problem.

Hmm... that tip definitely falls into the \'wouldn\'t THAT have been nice to know 10 years ago\' category. =)

Thank for the link!

remember if using piano wire that you will need to cut it with tools designed for hardened steel wire. Otherwise the jaws of your cutters will deform (at best), chip or shatter (at worst). Razor-sharp metal splinters flying off at high speed =/= FUN
