peeling paint

I just tried brushing on some vallejo varnish over some dries vallejo paint, that I let dry for like 5 minutes and the paint started to spread under the brush. Is this normal, the paint was applied very thin by the way.

I would normally dust on some dullcote between areas but it\'s raining out and I didn\'t want to get the mini wet before spraying.

Should I have waited longer before painting on the varnish?

Cheers

doesn\'t sound normal to me. Sounds like the weather is effecting drying times. The paint must have still been pretty wet when the varnish was applied. That would make it run. sorry about that. How bad was it? Is the mini salvagable?

Not in the desert! I can varnish about 2 hours after painting! Only good thing about living here!

it\'s always best to wait at least a few hours......also make sure brush is totally free of any and all paint....5 minutes you impatient bugger:beer:

I had an experience where I brushed on varnish over a freehand done with mostly ink. The act of brush loosened and re-wet the dried ink, and completely dissolved the freehand. Nowadays if I have areas I want to really protect I start with a spritz of Testor\'s dullcote to hold everything in place, then a brush on layer of varnish, then sometimes another spritz of dullcote.
