He lost his fight against pancreatic cancer yesterday, dying at home \"peacefully... with family at his side\".

I\'ve been following his battle and I really admire his positive spirit. I was saddened to see him go, but somehow I think his fight benefited to other people struggling to overcome the disease, at least I hope so.

I caught it on the news when I got into work this morning, very sad really, I didn\'t even know he had cancer but I guess that is partly my job as it can put me out of touch with things like that from time to time.

Look for a :Road House\" followed by \"Big Trouble in Little China\" weekend.

He\'ll be missed.

I think i will watch Point break and Roadhouse tonight... Sad that he died, i actually also followed his struggle. He got pretty well there, and now he is dead... He brought us some good films anyways!

Sorry Kevin it\'ll be Roadhouse (*), Dirty Dancing, Ghost and Father Hood.

Unless Kurt Russel\'s passed away \"Big Trouble in Little China\" will have to wait.

(*Jeff Healey the blind guitarist who played in the movie died a couple of years ago as well.)

He was a very private man and in the end a very brave man, he’ll be missed and not just for his acting.

May his flight to the Summerland be swift and sure

It\'s a shame

The foot chase between Swayze and Keanu Reeves in \"Point Break\" is a classic.

Was never a big fan. He could dance. He could sing ( kinda). He was pretty.
He always seemed kind of full of himself.

Have to admire the brave fight for his life and his dignity.
Advanced pancreatic cancer is typically a death sentence.

I thought his best roles were actually \"Red Dawn\", \"Donnie Darko\" and \"To Wong Foo....\"
All 3 guys in that were scary good. ( Not a good movie though )

Rest in Peace

Granddad!
......yes, he left us some good films,
RIP

I had a friend who had that, he was a big guy when he got it, he was off work for ages. The next time we saw him there was only half of him left, he was practically skin and bone. Sadly I lost touch soon after as the business closed, so I don\'t know whether he recovered or not :(

Well, he also left some serious crapfests for films as well....

But, regardless he seemed like a good guy. Maybe not tattooed on my calf muscle good, (and especially as a centaur) but good.

This is true. But I think to be fair we have to acknowledge that this is also true of some real acting heavyweights, including Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino.
