Parody Music

Okay, am I the only one here that really digs Me First and the Gimme Gimmes? I just got \"Love their country,\" and I\'m rocking to \"So Lonesome I could Cry\" right now. It\'s going to be a long day of working from home, and finding their latest album was a great plus. Mundane tasks are so much better when accompanied by great music.

They do a particular good version of \"Jolene\" as well. \"Earl\" wasn\'t too much of a stretch to begin with, but it\'s a good version. \"Eastbound and Down\" might be the best track on the album.

...saw them once in Vegas. Great live act as well.

...and since I\'m in the mood, I thouht I\'d put the Hawkman on next:

It does seem that there are an awful lot of good parody acts out there these days, some of them turning out damn good tunes. With Me First and with Hayseed Dixie, I\'m actually quite happy to listen to the music. Long after the joke wears thin, some of these songs are actually pretty good cross-genre.

...and yes, I just felt like sharing.

Me First - and all similar things -- fan here, too. Back in the heyday of the original Napster, my most oft-used search term was \"punk cover\"; found a lot of interesting stuff that way!
