Painting Transparently...

OK, I am asking how might I go about painting something to look transparent? In a way like a jelly fish.... I need info!! and this site is one of the better to get info from! Please help..

Well, I\'m not entirely sure, perhaps you could elaborate? What are you wanting to paint? If it will form part of a diorama the best thing to do would be to pick colours from whatever will be behind the model, use thin washes and paler versions of those colours and build up the colour that way, bending and distorting the object behind the model to the shape of the seethrough creature or object.

If it is something like a jellyfish, first paint on the internal organs - the dark spots, then working as above, build up some thin washes of pastel blues, purples or pinks to represent the jelly body. then add some darker striations and colour to any stark edges. Study pictures of jelly fish to get ideas as well.
