Painting light blonde hair

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to best go about painting VERY light blonde hair (the kind that\'s so light that it almost looks more white than yellow)? I primarily use GW paints but if anyone feels as though another company\'s product might be better for this project, I\'m all ears. Thanks in advance.

I\'ve got you covered here, not to worry... ideally, you need only one non-GW paint (an old Ral Partha Leather) but, you can sqeak by with Leprous Brown.

First off, paint your model\'s hair/fur/whathaveyou with the basecoat, a 50/50 mix of the Leprous Brown and Golden Yellow. It can even be slightly watery (moreso than usual). Make sure it\'s dry, and then go to step #2.
Now, mix up a little Bleached Bone into the Golden Yellow, and apply a heavy drybrush over the area. Repeat, adding more bleached bone as you go.
If the hair comes out too white for your tastes, water down some Yellow Ink and give is a few glazes to taste.

I hope this helps.

\"Pick me, pick me!\" - the donkey from Shrek

Ok, this is how I do it on my minis (mordheim band etc.):
You could choose between these two colours for starters:
1. Snakebite Leather or Bubonic brown. It all depends on how much contrast you want it to have.
2. Bubonic brown or bleached bone. Depends on what colour you started with.
3. Bleached bone or skull white.
4. Skull white, if you want. If you want the contrasting method, but still wants it to be really pale, go for this one.

By the way, these colours are usually the ones I use for my bone colours too, and if you do it right; you could use these for brown/white clothing (it\'s not really offwhite, but white with a brown shade).

Hope this helps :)

Green

The best colour to use for shading pale blonde hair is a light, slightly muddy green - not brown or beige.

Not many people know that . . . and you were only supposed to blow the bl**dy door off!

I use Ivory colored paint with some light washes of either grey or yellow depending on the tinting I want

i dont really do that bright of blond but i would go from golden yellow and shade it to bleached bone with a final hardly evident shade of skull white

I believe Ant Hughes uses it for his Karnstein. http://www.antsnest.net/

I use it but have no good pics - my cameras fritzed. Don\'t buy Olympus

I think the olive green works fine, but I seriously don\'t see a difference. Also her hair is more of a beach blonde than a light blonde, yeah?

Interesting tho.

Sincerely,
