Painting Cloth Like GW Eavy Metal Artists?

Hey guys need to know step by step how the artist at GW paint there white cloth on spacemarines. Thanks for the help. -Wes

You mean the scrolls and loincloths?

Fudge, Was trying to find the scroll article, but seems GW search is down yet again.

Loincloths to be exaxt. I dont want to have them look the same.
I use this for scrools

Kemri brown base
Kommando Khaki highlight
Devlan mud wash
Bleached bone final highlight

Nothing for the new marine sprues it seems.

Shadow grey - space wolf grey - white works well. You can add a bit of blue in there for a bluer white.

This gives quite a strong \'clean\' white. For a more linen look try using greys or browns, charadon granite would be good.

I use this method and it gets fairly similar results:

50/50 Khemri Brown/Dheneb Stone - Wash with 30/70 Badab Black/ Gryphonne Sepia - highlight by adding increasing amounts of Dheneb and then finally Skull White.

This is what it looks like (For this one I didn\'t apply the wash as I don\'t think the recesses were deep enough.)

I loke both of those recipes I think i will give them both a shot. Thanks for the tips guys.
