Painting Canis Wolfborn:- Fur Palette?

Hi,

I've been struggling for a couple of days now to try and match the look of the Eavy Metal colour scheme of Canis Wolfborn. Photo below showing the scheme I'm aiming for - anyone able to help?

Essentially there are two shades, Black through to brown (i.e. the wolfs head), and Oche through to white (fur).

My problem is, the browns I'm mixing are either too red, or too yellow.

e.g. Bestial brown - too red,
Bubonic - too yellow
Graveyard - too grey

Needless to say I've tried mixing these many ways - just can't get it right, any thoughts would be appreciated!

Try mixing 'em together.

If that still looks wrong I think what you're seeing isn't about hue (too reddish or too yellowish) but that the mixture is too chromatic, so it just needs to be dulled down a bit. In which case adding in a little grey is probably the easiest fix.

Hi, here are the colours i used-
*basecoat all over khemri brown
*wash the upper part of the wolf with graveyard earth
*mix khemri brown with bleached bone and work towards the bottom of the wolf, this is more of a layer than a drybrush.
*keep adding more bleached bone as you go further towards the legs of the wolf. again make this solid colour rather than leaving shading.
*then use pure bleached bone.
*then mix skull white in with bleached.
*add scorched brown in with graveyard earth and wash the top of the wolf,
*then wash the top of the wolf with scorched brown
*another wash of devlan mud was applied
*then to finish the top of the fur wash with badab black.
*the shaing on the body of the fur was done with gyphonne sepia, work it into the fur where needed.
*the darker fur at the top of the wolf was highlighted with dheneb stone
*the bottom of the wolf and fur was highlighted with white.
hope it helps, Daz
