Here\'s a shameless plug - this will be the 2nd year for miniatures painting classes at Origins. It was the dream of my late friend, Judi Northwood, to expand all facets of miniatures - game, hobby, display and competition. She worked hard to see miniatures recognized as an art form and also to recognize the contributions fine arts make to gaming. Her goals are being realized at the Origins Art College.
Similar to the War College, the Art College will consist of seminars, workshops, demos, instruction and an overall blending of miniatures and fine arts. Well-known sculptors like Sandra Garrity and amazing 2D artists like Ed Beard Jr. will teach, elbow-to-elbow, in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. For minis, there will be a large paint-n-take, \'open-judging\' style contests, classes, demos and even an \'Iron Painter\' event, plus there will be the ever-popular Art Show (including, for the first time, minis on display and possibly for sale).
Event registration opens May 12 - go to http://www.OriginsGameFair.com for more details. Hope to see you there!
