Painter\'s Terrain/Base Kit? Interest

Hey all,

I have been painting for over 10 years now. The one thing I have realized is basing can make or brake a figure.

There are many companies that put out stuff for bases, but they either charge an arm and a leg for a lot of it or you end up with more then you could ever need.

I was tinkering with the notion of purchasing the various flocking materials and then re packaging them in multi packs for the gamer/painter

A pack for 19.99 might include

2-6 ounces of Static Grass
2-10 ounces of Gravel/rock/sand
2-6 ounces of regular flock
a few ounces of Realistic water
Some pieces of cork mat

How do these Ideas hit you? Is this something you would be interested in buying?

I just bought something like this from Antenociti\'s Workshop and really like the variety. It didn\'t have Realistic Water but the coordinated basing supplies are really nice.

If you buy a few different seasons you end up with dups on the basics but that\'s just fine with me!

Try your local charity shop...

That\'s where I get all mine from, in the form of old placemats etc.

Try cheap cork coasters - IKEA carries them for a trivial cost, and other places might too. Or some places sell floor-tile-sized cork tiles.

For grass I bought a little white teddy bear and colored the fur different shades of green, cut the hair off and glued it in place. I like the look of it more than static grass. Static grass looks too uniform for my taste.
