OTTG: Lannister Love and under appreciated Lannister strengths?

There has been a lot of Lannister love this week from On The Table Gaming, especially with our most recent podcast on the Lannister combat units and NCU’s.

We already know how good Lannister Supremacy, but I’m curious as to what are some other Lannister strengths that may be under appreciated due to being overshadowed by Supremacy. What are people’s thoughts on some of the other major strengths of House Lannister?

The armor on guardsmen is so nice (3+), when I field even halbadiers (4+) I really miss it.

Yes, for sure. Their survivability is greatly underrated as of yet. They are very good at holding objectives!

Most people go for crossbowmen but I prefer to couple Tyrion with Cavalry.
In the single game played with himI actually had my Knights charge a unit, later used the maneuver spot on the tactics board to disengage and later use Tyrions tactic card to charge again.
I think this is vastly more effective than using his cards on crossobows if you ask me.

But please note that my experience with him is that single game.
I am still in the process of trying all commanders and have not even had 10 games thus far.
(wish I could do without work or sleep. Play more games :wink

Any particular lists you like to run as with Tyrion as commander?

With crossbows or cavalry, especially lead by Gregor as you get a free charge after wiping out a unit, in theory you could get several attacks with him in a round. Trouble is, either way, you need to get Tyrion cards out early or they are pretty rubbish. Team up with Guardsmen as it don't matter if you use their activation to activate something else as they are pretty pants and deal more damage just standing there.

Yesterday I was throwing away tactics cards in an attempt to get the extra activation or the recall cards, but three out of the four were halfway through the pack so weren't used to any good effect.
