Hey chaps and chapesses!

I\'m getting pretty close to finishing a Stompa scratchbuild and was hoping to get some input on what you think may be improved etc.

Built from plasticard etc., he has poseable legs and removeable \'arms\' as well as a rotating head.

Any suggestions will be gladly taken on board.

Many thanks good people!

Its nice is that. Can we get a view of the back too?

Looking at it, I think you could make it a bit more like a traditional stompa with the addition of some (removable) armour plates on the lower front to make it seem like he has a big belly. It shouldn\'t be too hard to make them attach round the heavybolter mount on the front. It looks very good as it is but for me that would just set the whole thing off.

I\'d paint a few more check pannels on there too as I can only see two.

now THATS a stompa!!!!!

awesome job. i agree with the checkers. you need some more colors other than red. mix it up a bit. i on the other hand hate the typical type of ork stompa and really admire this one. cheers

Thanks for the encouraging comments so far. I must say I agree on the colours/chequers comments, it was something I was mulling over so you\'ve helped make my mind up on that.

I was the same on the current stompas, they didn\'t look intimidating enough for me either, so I tried making this one a tad more imposing.

Unfortunately I don\'t even play, so it\'ll be ebay bound eventually. I just love the painting and modelling side of the game.

I love it... \"Orky no wot, at wurk on \'at un.\"

The only thing that i noticed is that it could use a bit more contrast, some checkers or even just som alternate, brighter silver bits here and there... Stuff that moves a lot or a little could be brighter... the crotch cannon for example.

Anyway, great model... I\'d love to see/hear a how to on that beast!

tbh, I haven\'t actually painted the crotch or chest bolters yet, merely undercoated and drybrushed so that\'d be a good place to start with some contrast actually, being pretty central and all, so good call!

Speaking of which, with the bolters being obviously looted, what colours would you guys suggest?

As for a WIP log, I\'m afraid I got so carried away with the build I didn\'t take pics, but here\'s how he looked pre-painted to give you an idea.

Luvverly jubbly! :p
VERY orky!
Though I feel the mid-leg struts look painfully thin (Maybe some beefing up there?)

I\'ll go with everything already mentioned :)
Very nice :)

Cheers Dan!

The legs, I must admit were meant to look like that, my thinking was that the Mekboy who built it started building it kinda \'sensibly\' but then got carried away on the \'good stuff\', and hey he might fall over if he gets in a bit of a tight spot but then that all adds to the orkish nature of perfect mechanics (aka far from perfect mechanical thinking!) ;)

One small word of advice, never use \"Ork\" and \"sensible\" in the same sentence.

But looks wicked, but I do agree with the armour skirt.

Dorks for Orks
Great scratch build bud, Love the style ya got going kinda like a Frankenork take on a SM Dread enlarged. Only sugestions would be as others have said and break things up with more checks and colors. One way to get some color on him would be to add some glyphs maybe tellin who this biggun has stomped and such. Perhaps some big smoke stack-like exhausts commin out the back and poking up over the shoulders like a big rig would have. Also those knee pistons are a bit too weedy but thats bout it as far as improvin the actual model.

The sensible, human side of me says \"It\'s refreshing to see a design that doesn\'t look like an fat ork mom in a dress.....\"

The ork kommanda in me sez... \"Go make me one uv dem tings, RIGHT NOW!\"

AS someone mentioned before, I think I\'m gonna loot this design as well. Superb, mean and very stompy!

well that is one he.. of an ork........
If I should come with a piece of advice I would drill out the barrels of the bolters and give them a bit more difinition/difference from their casing.

Are they relatives :D ?
