Originally started last year of Aussie Golden demons but side tracked from painting this year and only just got back into the swing of things. SO GD 2008 here I come!

Photos aren\'t flash as I haven\'t got a lighting set up and I camera wasn\'t on a tripod.

It looks great and nicely gritty, but I did have one concern. Is the mech hand supposed to be yellow all the way, or switch to red towards the claw end? Because if so, then the scratches would be on the inside if he\'s been hitting things and grabbing things.

However, if it\'s supposed to be blood and the photo quality is causing me to be confused, ignore me.

looking good :)

but I think that the huuuge claw is a slight bit too huge, it\'s almost as if it was too heavy for the orc to lift it, being a dreadnaught hand and all :p

I quite like it actually :D I just wish the photo was a bit better... got some funky light bleeding over into the dark areas. No idea what would be causing that.

That would be the crappy glow given of by a single bulb at 1am in the morning. I am going to set up a proper lighting rig on Thursday and take proper photos then.

Thanks for looking.

Wow, that took a long time to update but I really like how this guy turned out. I demand color recipes for the orc flesh tho :p

BTW looks like there\'s a stringy bit of flash on the skull in the rear shot, I hate it when I notice something like that after I\'m \"done\" so I thought I\'d let you know :)

Thanks man - great spotting. I hadn\'t noticed it for what it was, I just thought it was a mistake in casting but it popped right off.

The skin is pretty simple.

Base colour - Catachan green
First shade - Catachan +Regal blue+ Scorched Brown
Second shade - Add black to above.
Third shade - Straight black.
First Highlight - 3 parts Catachan 1 part fortress gray
Second highlight - 2 Parts Catachan 1 part fortress grey
Third Highlight - 1 Part Catachan 1 part fortress gray
Forth Highlight - As above + white
Fifth Highlight - Straight white.

And it took a long time to paint! Started it over 12 months ago. Painted irregularly this year and I was really taking my time on this guy.

Loving the skintones here, very dynamic! Confused about the metals, is it NMM or metalics or both??? Can\'t quuuite figure it out.
The dreddy power fist is an excellent touch! Talk about \"heroic Scale\" lol Love the weathering too.

Excellent stuff. A good Ork is always nice to see. Please get the name right though, its not a Sarge, it\'s a NOB. A BIG NOB!

I think that you could perhaps improve the blood on the klaw. Get rid of some and take the town down a little so that it fits the gritty realism of the rest of the model. Right now it\'s a bit too cartoony.

Also the freehand skull, although good, isn\'t very Orky in its style. I suppose it\'s meant to look like it\'s been torn off an Imperial Fists dread though, so it kinda works. I think some additional Orky freehand as well might make it fit the mood more though.

The rest is groovy.

Not much I can do to reduce the amount of blood, But I could darken some of it to look like a mix of old and new (I just can\'t imagine him being to picky about cleanliness).

Thanks for pointing out the name thing - I will put it right if I post him to the galleries.

The goggles, the rof going into his arm and the boot caps are all extremely convincing! The bit that hurts my head most though is the rust on the power fist!

To you sir, I duly doff my cap!

ED* the straps and rings on the backpack are also incredibly real. Just love the feel of this one.
