Ork Eye Colour?

Did a search and didn\'t find a thread.If I missed it sorry:no:

What colour are the eyes for 40k Orks?
Early, ( 20 years ago ) the orks had red eyes but I\'ve noticed that now painters colour them like regular eyes, white with dark centers. Is there a preference or fluff that would explain this?

In White Dwarf 350 & 356, both 2009, the \'Eavy Metal face painting article parts 1 & 2 shows orks with red eyes with a yellow dot centre. I assume that is their house default? B.

I ask because I saw some of my friend old Ork mini where he painted the eyes solid red and they look menacing. I know some of the fluff has changed, for example skin colour of orks. Their skin darkens up with age, but I don\'t see this happening when painters paint their minis. Dragonsreach said it right \"...choose what ever colour YOU think is best.\"

The orks pictured on the box (im thinking of the new nob box), the gretchin is actually green-brown and the nobz neon-green, totally wrong is you ask me. I always paint the opposite, darker skin on bigger boyz.

anyway i never paint red eyes, mainly cos i think they look more \"alive\" with egular eyes.

I\'m partial towards pale yellow orc eyes, something along the lines of Iyanden Darksun (Foundation) or Mouldy Ochre/Sulfurous Yellow (P3). Red clashes with the green skintone IMO.

LOL!!lollol

I personally paint for the last five years mainly orcs and goblins and I am set for the red-eye pattern but with a bit of red ink and yellowish highlighting that gives off a very foreboding look.I have tried though on ocassion yellow and even purple eyes(mostly on shamans) and they look really good.
Bottom line is that as Dragonsreach said you can do whatever you want with them.Pupils or not.
