Ordinary Space Marines Converted Into Chaos Marines

OK, so i got to thinking recently. I had been trying to come up with a colour scheme for my Space Marines and kept failing at every turn.

So, after nosing at bolter and chainsword.com, i had an idea. Iv got a complete Chaos Army for WFB gathering dust, so i decided its about time i converted the SM\'s into Chaos SM\'s.

Il keep this thing updated as best i can, and show pics where possible. First thing i\'m doing is a Chaos Terminator Lord. I WAS going to use the head off the mounted Slaanesh Lord for this, but seeing as how i\'v lost the fricking thing im going to use the normal Slaanesh Lord head.

Trying to figure out how to make up a DP with my WFB bits though (i have 2 spawns and an old Azazel model). If anyone has any ideas then please let me know! :]

First Update!

OK, here\'s my first attempt at a conversion. It\'s for the Aspiring Champion of the Slaaneshi army i\'m building - bits are:- SM Commander Body, Chaos Warrior (WFB) head, and Lucius the Eternal Sword arm and backpack.

Not sure what to do with the right arm - so far iv got the idea of the whip from the Lucius model as well (to represent the Lash of Slaanesh). Any ideas let me know. It still needs to be basecoated before painting of course

Once iv got the right arm sorted and got him basecoated il pop another pic on of it ready for painting

A friend of mine back in the US did the samething back in \'93. He got a great deal on some of the beakie marines because theye were being phased out. So, he just painted them red and called them Khorne. It honeslty looked tacky as hell and annoyed most of us in our gaming group. lol

Ok quick update here - been busy this morning so haven\'t been able to do much, decided on giving my Aspiring Champion a plasma pistol.

Next thing i\'ve decided on working on is my Chaos Sorcerer, which is based on the Lucius the Eternal model body. I\'ll try and get some more pics and put them on either later this afternoon or tonight.

Second one looks a HELLUVA lot better than the first, but then it isn\'t covered in a completely random-looking thick paint scheme lol

I think you need to find a way to secure that cloak though - Maybe some spikes?

EDIT - oh yeah - the first one needs the purity seals removing or chaosifying

yeh il probably glue on some spikes or something to the top parts of the cloak thanks for the idea! . Not sure what to do about the purity seals on the first one though (oh and BTW thats not the colour scheme, i need to respray the whole lot).

My original idea was a Space Marine chapter that had newly fallen to Chaos, so thats why i\'m using my SM\'s. Any ideas how to \"Chaosify\" them a bit further? i have limited - no il rephrase - NO experience in working with green stuff but would love to give it a try.

Well, if they\'re NEWLY chaos, they might still have some imperial iconography - but mutilated and defaced - have imperial eagles scratched or painted over, etc etc etc

i would reccomend adding fur at the top of the cape. instead of spikes and such. its easy and looks good when finished.

Glory, Thy Name Is Chaos....

Well i managed to get some work done today. Was at my partner\'s baby scan so been on a high all night!

OK so far iv managed to finished the swaps on my Terminator Squad. First up the Terminator Champion with Power Weapon and Combi-Bolter.

The bits on this model are:- Normal Space Marine Terminator Body and weapon arm, High Elf Spearmen head, Normal Space Marine Thunder Hammer, and the Scythe from the Empire Wizard sprue, and the Combi Bolter from the Space Marine Terminator Librarian Model.

Next up, my converted Terminator Squad. This includes my take on the Chaos autocannon, using a standard Space Marine termie with an autocannon, i just glued on a sword blade from the Eldar Wraithlord model.

Also a couple of other Termies, using the WFB Chaos Marauder heads. I\'m going to try changing the blades on the lightning claws to real blades (from spears and daggers etc).

OK the next thing i\'m going 2 work on (Aside from basecoating them etc) will be the Sorcerer. I\'m going to try and model it similar to how Space Marine psychic powers are modelled, only instead of a psychic power, he\'ll be summoning a spawn.....

Looks good except for the Wraith Lord\'s sword on the autocannon terminator. It just looks ackward. Cut it down alot and it will better.

I\'d also like to suggest just posting WIP pictures here in the forums instead of in the main gallery. It hacks some people off and I\'ve already deleted a couple of rude and insulting comments from a person who should know better.

@Ebonbhudda:- thanks mate il try that, i obviously need to green stuff over the eldar runes etc and try and add chaos runes

@Dragonsreach:- i know, iv already emailed you guys asking to remove them, as someone sent me a thing asking what he was rating - the pics so far are only supposed to be in THIS thread and i have no idea why they keep turning up in the voting page. Seeing as how i\'m sort of a noob on here could you tell me how to prevent this with any further pics?

Looks to me like you\'ve put all your WIP photos on the main site. This means that they go through to the voting pages. What you need to do is host them elsewhere, like on photobucket for example, and link to them there rather than uploading them to CMON.
