Sorry, but I must be missing something :
*) Is the ground done for the dreadnought and the chaplain?
*) Aren\'t you planning on putting some vehicle markings on the Rhino?

mother!@#$er

I did all that weathering and everything on the rhino and I have no markings on the damn thing.

I meant the painting was done, the bases I\'ll do all at once. I\'m thinking of doing an urban black top base style with misc street markings. Then again that doesnt go with the mud caked rhino. Wow I fudged up bigtime :/

Erh ... OK, didn\'t mean to cause you problems like that ;).

For the markings, I think there is still plenty of room to put some above the mud. You\'ll just need to redo the weathering a bit.

For the bases, you can still give it an urban feeling but with more mud than initially planned to tie everything in ;).

It\'s all good I tend to get so wrapped up in a good idea I forget things like bases and stuff :)

I think i\'m going to do a little spatter around the feet of the dread and the chappie and try and figure out how to make urban/muddy bases. Maybe a cracked street? hmm...

Theres a trick to carving lines into the bases, and making them looking like paving stones, just take a thick bladed knife, and cut odd four sided shapes into it, make the grooves nice and deep, and reasonably thick, and just paint up as stone.

Few bits of blood and bullet casings etc, easy as anything, nice and urban, nice and easy.

It depends what kind of state you want it in (liquide, heavy, dry, ...) and the type of soil you want to do (clay, iron rich, ...).

Do a Google image search and try to replicate what best fits your needs ;).

And here is an CMON article on the subject :

another update!

whirlwind nearly complete. Just need to take care of the gem work on the targeting sensors and maybe add one more icon to the front of the vehicle.

And some shots of my work area. That\'s right kids for the measly cost of a mortgage you too can have an entire room dedicated to your hobbies!

Homemade paint booth. Online 200+ dollars, this one costs 75 plus a case of beer and has a high powered oven vent fan that can suck up small animals. I turn it on and it vents fumes out the room so fast I dont even get multi colored boogers anymore

another update, basically with work and such I\'m getting one DW termy done a night

DW Srgt LC: Over all my transitions between colors is getting better, but the fade on the claws is kinda rough. I only did one minor conversion which is the wings on the gauntlets

darkangels40k006dn3.jpg

darkangels40k007ru1.jpg

Chainfist/Storm Bolter: Nothing special here, just a CF and storm bolter

darkangels40k002mh9.jpg

darkangels40k003vb7.jpg

darkangels40k004yd5.jpg

Assault Squad Srgt: I usually only do slight conversions and this is my big one for this army and even so it\'s not so big. Basically grabbed 4 chainswords from the bits box (I\'m not a big fan of chainswords I think they\'re ugly. Instead my assault guys have power weapons that are just counted as regular CCW). Slapped a thin strip of plasticard over the gap, added two purity seals, and the crosses at the tips.

and I got the first and second highlights done on my 2 tac squads and my devastators

Looks like a pretty cool army my friend. Nice to see you\'re putting in the effort to do some conversions and whatnot, should help the overall impression when it\'s all said and done. Weathering on the vehicles is a nice touch too.

I wouldn\'t mind seeing slightly bigger pics tho. 480x360 should work nicely, and won\'t suck up too much bandwidth if that\'s an issue where you host your pics.
