Olive Skin

I\'m trying to paint a mini with an olive skin tone. By olive I mean real world Italian/Greek coloring, not goblin coloring. ;)

I just can\'t seem to get it right though. It doesn\'t seem to be pink based like Caucasian coloring, yellow based like Asian coloring, or brown based like African or Amerindian coloring. Does anyone have suggestions on mixes to use? Pictures of finished results would also be much appreciated! Also, my paint collection at the moment is mostly GW paints, if that helps.

Thanks!

hmmm... elf flesh (less red than dwarf, less rubbish than bronzed), with a little catachan green and scorched brown?

Actually, add a smidge of green to the elf flesh. It tones down the \'redness\' of it and will help get closer to the color you\'d like.

Most olive skin isn\'t nearly as greenish as we might tend to think (or as greenish as the name suggests!); in practice this is usually just a case of dulling down the mixture a little more than normal and a slight shift in hue toward yellow - more orange, less red.

Finally found the thread I was looking for, this\'ll help show what I mean:
