Old Grey Knight cheme

Hello, I just grecieved a package of old Grey Knight termies I got from Ebay - I took they ´cause they look cool, especially for such old minis - stil the new ones are better - and I wonder how they are supposed to be painted; I saw some examples here on CMON, but I wonder how the were \'officially\' painted back in 1989 when they were made. If anyone has a catologue or codex from that time (I was five years old in 1989 so I don´t have any ) or has seen scans of GW stuff showing those on the internet, please tell me

I\'ve gone thru all my back issues of WD and couldn\'t find anything re colour schemes for Grey Knights - found them for all the other chapters tho!

I did a search on the internet and found various sources. I\'ve attached a couple of pics and also a URL to a good site.

I don\'t thinkthat\'s an old one....

I think this is where my advanced years may come in handy for a change. I have had a look at the images on CMON and can only find two old Grey Knights:

I will check through some other resources and see if I can come up with anything else.
IMO the old Grey Knights were amongst the best minis made by GW and they will be collectable long after the new ones have been relegated to the bargain bin.:bouncy:

In the old rules, Grey knight terminator squads were lvl4 psykers or something like that

I am glad someone else thinks the new ones are a dissapointment compared with the earlier ones - the only problem with the originals was that they couldn\'t hold their weapons!

They damn well could by the time I had finished with a pin vice and the 1mm wire!!!

If I remember my WD \'Eavy Metal lore correctly, they suggested a base color of Shining Gold, shaded with Chestnut ink. Then highlighted w/Shining Gold - possibly Mithril for the final highlights.

Tewligan is right. The grey knights were painted gold back in the days.

thank you very much for the effort, all of you, I´ve been away for the whole week and now I see a whole lot of answers to my questions;
I think I´ll try the gold cheme on one of them , ´cause I have the GK body 2 four times and can risk one;
- I don´t think the new GKs are worse than the old ones, they´re just completely differernt, they don´t have that \'box\' over the head that all other termies have;
finn17: thank you for the image, but I ´ve already found B/W images on http://www.das-astronomican.de/astronomican/astronomican.htm , a very good backgroud site; that´s why I bought the old GKs at all;
